The TWU Counseling Center (TWUCC) serves the TWU student community on the Denton, Dallas, and Houston campuses.It is the Counseling Center’s mission to support student success and personal growth in a warm and safe environment. The TWU Counseling Center fully supports and respects issues of multicultural diversity and individual uniqueness.We view diversity as encompassing a broad spectrum of intersecting identities including ethnic/racial identity, nationality, sexual identity, gender identity and expression, age, ability status, religious/spiritual identity, socioeconomic status, body shape/size/appearance, and family composition.
We know white men are just as imperfect as the rest of us.
But the idea that the author decided to put white males on a pedestal above black men without considering the challenges of being black in America had me fuming.
By an expression “American Belarus women” the first what comes up in mind is woman from Belarus who lives in USA for a long time or immigrant from Belarus who has got right for permanent living in the United States.
We acknowledge the effects of systemic oppression, discrimination, stereotypes, prejudice, power, and privilege on students’ lives.
At times, these factors significantly limit our students from achieving their fullest potential in their educational journey, physical health, and emotional well-being.
